Curator, photographer, film-maker, and writer, Philip Brookman is currently a Consulting Curator in the Department of Photographs at the National Gallery of Art. He organized numerous exhibitions and publications including Taryan Simon: A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapters: I-XVIII; Sally Mann: What Remains; and Robert Frank: London/Wales. Brookman previously served as Chief Curator at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and curated projects for Tate Modern, London and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Brookman will lead a discussion of digital media works in the exhibition Shirin Neshat: Facing History.
