A yellow plastic tray containing a collage sits atop a wooden stool.

Have you ever seen a work of art that covers an entire room (even the floors!)? Get inspired by artist Barbara Kruger at this week’s Art Cart! Find us on the Lower Level and pick up your collage materials. Young artists will take a close look at Kruger’s work, Belief+Doubt, and then make their own collages using paper, string, and more!

Do this at home! Reveal the layers within a story that matters to you with this at-home art project inspired by artist Mark Bradford. Create.

A collage created from an image in a magazine

A ripped out photo from a magazine showing a short, brown building with a green roof has been augmented with the addition of strips of newspaper.

Until we can gather for Storytime again, the Art Cart offers young artists (best for ages 6 and under) themed sets of materials. Each week’s Art Cart offers a fresh and fun theme featuring an artwork on view, an art making activity to do at the Museum, and kids projects to extend the fun at home! The Art Cart is free; no registration required. Every Wednesday, 10 am–12 pm

Stroller Parking is available on the Lower Level.

Help us stay safe and healthy! Review Smithsonian health and safety guidelines before your visit.
