Check out The Washington Ballet’s original, contemporary dance created for Fred Sandback’s Untitled (Sculptural Study, Twelve-Part Vertical Construction), which bisects the gallery space with a dozen columns of red and black yarn. The installation is part of the Hirshhorn’s exhibition What Absence is Made Of, using the collection to investigate ways artists make visible the invisible and bringing to light common threads not previously explored.
This program is presented in partnership with The Washington Ballet’s Dance for All, a community engagement initiative that brings free performances, demonstrations, and dance classes to every neighborhood in Washington, DC.
