EYE TO EYE: STORYTIME in ASL
November 17, 2019 | 10:00 am–11:00 am

Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate Thanksgiving with your little artist? Join us for a reading of Last Stop on Market Street, by Matt de la Peña. Then, stay and make your own artwork to take home, inspired by For Freedoms by Hank Willis Thomas, a reimagining of Norman Rockwell’s Four Freedoms.
EYE TO EYE: STORYTIME in ASL is for the Deaf Community, and explores contemporary art through stories and movement. Each week STORYTIME features a fresh and fun theme. Bring your littlest art lover for an introduction to an artist on view, interactive read aloud, and a hands-on activity.
Visitors who are hearing may request an interpreter, with one week’s advance notice. Nursing moms are welcome. Stroller parking is available in the Hirshhorn Lobby and Lower Level. Groups of 10 or more should contact mcgettigant@si.edu to reserve a program in advance. Please note: snacks are not allowed inside museum galleries, but you may eat outside on our Plaza, or in the ground floor lobby and cafe before or after the program.
