Future of Music Public Forum Concert featuring Mark de Clive-Lowe
December 13, 2019 | 7:00 pm–8:30 pm

FREE
Since 2008 half Japanese, half New Zealander pianist, composer, live remixer and producer Mark de Clive-Lowe has called Los Angeles home where his acclaimed club night CHURCH has taken his singular blend of technology and beat-infused jazz from coast to coast and around the globe. Equal parts jazz musician, electronica master and live production wizard, MdCL’s sets are a treat for the listeners, the dancers, the progressives and the purists alike, as he seamlessly cross-pollinates genres and masterfully re-interpolates the past and present to offer to an unimagined future possibility. Whether he’s bumping creations for the dance floor, remixing classic Blue Note Records on the fly, on stage joined by the likes of Kamasi Washington or Eric Harland, or improvising soundtracks at the grand piano, MdCL is “a musical force unlike any other” (Popmatters.com).
“(The) avant-garde soulful Pianist/DJ/Producer delivers his lifetime of journeys to different musical ports in a concise package, seamlessly… transporting not just in genre but in emotion and spirit.” – Huffington Post
