Join East City Art publisher Phil Hutinet for an early morning talk about how he developed a publication to highlight underrepresented artists and art spaces across the DMV.

East City Art published its first post in January 2010 with the intention of promoting underrepresented artists and art spaces in eastern Washington, DC, and the Gateway Arts District in Prince George’s County, MD.  The small blog quickly shifted the conversation about where art was shown and who made art in the region. Almost a decade later, it has blossomed into a regular publication covering the entire DC region. East City Art’s writers’ collaborative, comprised of art historians, curators, and art editors, publishes an annual anthology of work titled CONFLUENCE: Two Rivers One City.

Dolcezza Coffee & Gelato opens at 8:45 am.
