How can we use art to amplify the voices of a social movement? How can the act of self-representation become an act of resistance? How can art become subjugated and subverted, and how do we fight back?

Join British – Kashmiri writer & photographer Sumaya Teli of Mamanushka and artists from The Sanctuaries as they explore these questions and discuss their recent collaboration. The discussion will be moderated by Nouf Bazaz of Stand With Kashmir.

The Sanctuaries activates multicultural and multifaith artists to heal social divides and ignite social change by amplifying the impact of grassroots organizing, civic engagement, and social movement work in Washington, DC and beyond.

Stand With Kashmir is a group of independent global citizens committed to standing in solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Dolcezza Coffee & Gelato will open at 8:45 am.
