To thank our Hirshhorn Insider members for supporting our free public programs, we’re throwing a summertime party.

Hirshhorn members need only click to reserve two passes. Need to renew? Not yet a member? We’re here to help. Sign-up and join us.

This after-hours event draws inspiration from Jacob Lawrence’s painting, When It Is Warm the Parks Are Filled with People (1943), on view in Revolutions: Art from the Hirshhorn Collection, 1860-1960.

Between 6-9 pm, registered attendees may explore Revolutions—an exhibition The Washington Post calls “a joy”—and chill on our Plaza with sets by DJ Center. We’ll host a hands-on art-making challenge too. At 6:30 pm, Assistant Curator Betsy Johnson will lead a 30-minute tour diving into the four works by Lawrence currently on view.

To beat the heat, we’ll be pouring Ten to One Rum cocktails. Our friends at Dolcezza will sell gelato, beer and wine.

Mingle with art lovers, come closer to Lawrence’s summer scene, make a masterpiece, and take home that good feeling that comes from supporting art-for-all.
