STORYTIME: Lines with the Washington Ballet
May 8, 2019 | 10:00 am–11:00 am

Dance! Join us for a special STORYTIME with the Washington Ballet! We will examine lines in art, read The Land of Lines by Victor Hussenot, and make lines with our own bodies. Following the story, stay for a dance workshop or make your own artwork. As a special collaboration with the Washington Ballet’s Dance for All, STORYTIME will be offered in two sessions on May 8 at 10 am and 11:30 am.
The Washington Ballet’s Dance for All initiative offers over 50 free events throughout DC, April 6–May 9.
The 10 am program will have ASL interpretation.
STORYTIME explores contemporary art through stories and movement. Museum staff will read aloud a book, introduce children to an artist in the collection, and lead a hands-on activity. Nursing moms welcome. Stroller parking is available in the Hirshhorn lobby. Groups of 10 or more should contact mcgettigant@si.edu to reserve a program in advance. Please note: snacks are not allowed inside the Museum, but you may eat outside on our Plaza before or after the program.
