STORYTIME: Julián is a Mermaid with the Washington Ballet
September 18, 2019 | 11:30 am–12:30 pm

Get ready to express yourself and dance! Join us for a special STORYTIME with the Washington Ballet for an exploration of how we express who we are. We will examine works on view, read Julián Is a Mermaid by Jessica Love, dance, and participate in our own playful art-making.
This program is part of the Washington Ballet’s Dance for All initiative which brings dance to every quadrant in Washington, DC through free performances, demonstrations, and dance classes.
STORYTIME explores contemporary art through stories and movement. Each week features a fresh and fun theme. Bring your littlest art lover for an introduction to an artist on view, interactive read aloud, and a hands-on activity.
Nursing moms are welcome. Stroller parking is available in the Hirshhorn Lobby and Lower Level. Groups of 10 or more should contact mcgettigant@si.edu to reserve a program in advance. Please note: snacks are not allowed inside museum galleries, but you may eat outside on our Plaza, or in the ground floor lobby and cafe before or after the program.
ASL interpretation will be provided for the 10-11 am program. ASL interpretation may be requested for this program time with one week notice. Contact mcgettigant@si.edu.
