An educator and four Hirshhorn kids dance in the hallway of the museum behind a vividly orange, red and brown section of Mark Bradford's Pickett's Charge

Throughout November, we’re delving into the world of artist Mark Bradford and his monumental masterpiece, Pickett’s Charge. Join us as we unravel Bradford’s creative process, his materials, and what inspires him to make art. This week, we will add, subtract, and experiment with materials inspired by the layers of Pickett’s Charge. Artists will explore the possibilities of ripping, pulling, and layering materials including paper, rope, glue, and fabric.
