Touch Tour
September 15, 2018 | 11:00 am–12:00 pm

Visitors with visual impairment are invited to discover sculpture on the Hirshhorn’s plaza on a touch tour led by Hirshhorn staff. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience three sculptures in the museum’s collection that contain multiple and repetitious forms. Discuss what’s happening between the forms, gain insight on the sculptures from museum staff, and learn about conservation of these sculptures at the Hirshhorn.
Companions are welcome on the tour, but for conservation reasons, only visitors with visual impairment will be invited to touch the works and will need to wear provided gloves. Visitors should note that the sculptures on this tour will require movement through grass to reach.
The tour will be one hour long. This tour is intended for visitors with vision impairment and their companions. If you are a sighted visitor, please join one of our free daily tours at 12:30 and 3:30 pm.
