Hirshhorn Plaza

On view in conjunction with the exhibition Soyer since 1960 were 144 works selected from a recent gift to the Museum by the then 82-year-old American artist. Included were etchings, drypoints, and lithographs ranging from Soyer’s first print – a 1917 portrait of his father – to more recent productions based, characteristically, on Soyer’s close observations of friends, neighbors, and artists’ models.
