Russian and Soviet Paintings, 1900–1930: Selections from the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, and the State Russian Museum, Leningrad

On view were more than 90 paintings by 69 artists from the collections of the two largest museums of Russian and Soviet art in the then-USSR. The exhibition was devoted to early-20th-century art and included examples from late Impressionist, Expressionist, Constructivist, Suprematist, and Socialist Realist styles. Artists on view included Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky, Kasimir Malevich, and Lyubov’ Popova.
