Join the Hirshhorn Color Battle! 

Throughout June, Hirshhorn Art School is taking inspiration from the best of summer camp—starting with our Color Battle. Anyone can participate. Here’s how: 

  • In the Galleries: Choose a color team when you pick up a special Hirshhorn bingo card from the front desk in the Lobby. Use the bingo game to explore the galleries. When you’ve got bingo, drop off your card outside Art School, on the Lower Level, to add points to your color team. 
  • At Art School: Join a color team when you drop into Art School for Storytime Studio (Wednesdays, 10 AM–noon) and Open Studio (Saturdays, 10 AM–2 PM). Use your team color to make artworks inspired by artists such as Morris Louis, Jackson Pollock, and more. Find our calendar of free drop-in programs here.
  • At Home: Complete one of our kids’ digital art projects, then send a photo to hmsgeducation@si.edu. Be sure to include the name of your color team! 

The winner of the Color Battle will be announced at Open Studio on July 5 and in our Kids e-newsletter on July 10.
