The Hirshhorn Museum's ARTLAB and creative intelligence agency, THE HRCHY, hosts an interactive installation and film screening celebrating the significance of Black hair and the impacts of Black hair salons on the District. The evening featured a short film series on Black hair by ARTLAB teens, pop-up art installations, live performance from renowned artist Crowezilla, a panel discussion featuring prominent figures from D.C.’s Black hair scene, and much more! Guests will had the opportunity to share and experience live playback of their personal hair stories with the interactive theatre company, Verbal Gymnastics, hear music from 93.9 WKYS's Little Bacon Bear and share space with journalist, author and great-great granddaughter of Madam C.J. Walker, A’Lelia Bundles.
