Art Cart: Construct with Kruger

What matters to you? Build your own world in a box inspired by artist Barbara Kruger. Young artists will look closely at her work Belief+Doubt, read stories about building, and create their own wordy works of art.

Find the Art Cart on the Lower Level to pick up your constructing materials.

Do this at home! What do you want to change? Assemble a collage inspired by Loïs Mailou Jones’s Challenge—America. Choose a cause that you care about,  and then arrange and rearrange images to create a collage that inspires change in your community! Instructions here.

A large, horizontally oriented collage has been created atop a rectangular piece of yellow construction paper.

Maker Morning: Installation Creation

For kids (and adults!) of all ages

Think inside and outside the box with us in this Maker Morning exploring installation! Have you ever seen an artwork that covers an entire room (sometimes including the floors!)? Large artworks, often with many different parts that are set up in a place, are called installations. Join us for Maker Morning: Installation Creation to check out the many installations on view at the museum, collaborate and create our own larger than life artwork!

Find us throughout the Museum.

Stroller parking is available in the Lobby and Lower Level.

Each month, we’ll introduce you to new activities and ideas, focused on this year’s theme of Be Transformed. Drop in and explore the Museum through engaging interactives, kids tours, and more. Activities take place throughout the Museum and Sculpture Garden.
