Bundtshaft Cake-Off: Bake a Mini Hirshhorn
Join us again next month! Maker Morning is the Hirshhorn’s free series held on a select Saturday of each month that invites kids of all ages to experience contemporary art through interactive hands-on making activities. Each month, we’ll introduce you to new activities and ideas, focused on this year’s theme of Be Transformed. Drop in and explore the Museum through engaging interactives, kids tours, and more. Activities take place throughout the Museum and Sculpture Garden.
Art Cart: All About Water
Beat the heat this summer with a water inspired Art Cart! Young artists will explore the properties of water, experiment with creating miniature water fountains, and explore how artists use water in their art.
Find the Art Cart outside on the Plaza near the fountain.
Note: Young artists may get wet with hands-on projects! Please pack a towel to dry off your little ones if you choose to enter the museum after the Art Cart.
Make art at home! Explore how artist Jiha Moon paints water in our Layered Landscapes project. Instructions here.
