Directions 1981

This major group exhibition highlighted new directions in contemporary art through works by younger artists from Europe and North America. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, a kaleidoscopic video installation, and onsite environmental works were among the pieces on view, and artists included Lita Albuquerque, Conrad Atkinson, William Beckman, James Byrne, Rosemarie Castoro, Vernon Fisher, Debora Hunter, Alain Kirili, Grover Mouton, Judy Pfaff, Thomas Rose, Ulrich Rückriem, Earl Staley, Michelle Stuart, Jeff Wall, and Jerry Zeniuk.
