Teens stand in a row, each in a different pose, in front of a black wall with the words “HIRSHHORN: The National Museum of Modern Art” painted in white

Join us for the opening of Look Twice: Stories without Words, a showcase of original artwork created by students in the Hirshhorn Teens Emerging Artists Program.

Fifteen young artists joined us this summer at Hirshhorn Art School. Responding to their own experiences, the Hirshhorn collection, and the world around them, they built a supportive studio community where they learned, experimented, and created for eight weeks.

This Saturday, August 16, you can join this creative community at Look Twice, their closing showcase, and investigate their chosen theme, public responsibility, through their original artwork, hands-on art-making, and conversations with the artists. Drop in between 1 and 4 PM inside Art School on the Museum’s Lower Level.

ABOUT HIRSHHORN TEENS EMERGING ARTISTS PROGRAM
Emerging Artists is one of dozens of free art education programs offered by Hirshhorn Art School, a permanent art-making hub opened inside the Hirshhorn Museum in 2024 for artists of all ages. The Emerging Artists Program received support from the Fisher Arts Impact Fund, The Sidney E. Frank Foundation, The Hirsch Family Foundation, and The Keith Haring Foundation. Join us for programs and workshops that will bring you closer to art, ideas, and other creators.
