John Covert

This was the first retrospective of the pioneering American Modernist painter John Covert (1882–1960), whose unique fusion of Cubism and Dada was illustrated by the 27 works on view. His unusual assemblages, including Brass Band, a collage constructed of oil paint, cord, and nails, were among the highlights of the exhibition.
