Reuben Nakian: The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden Collection
Aug 14, 1980–Jan 04, 1981
On view were 20 sculptures and six drawings by Armenian American artist Reuben Nakian (1897–1986), a senior figure in the field of abstract contemporary sculpture, together composing all of the Hirshhorn’s holdings of his work. Like most of his art throughout his lifetime, the works were inspired by classical Greek and Roman mythology.
