Samuel Murray: The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden Collection

The Hirshhorn’s collection of works by Samuel Murray (1870-1941), turn-of-the-century realist sculptor and a close friend and disciple of Thomas Eakins, was shown for the first time. On view were 35 bronze and plaster sculptures, an oil painting, a group of watercolors and drawings, related photographs, and memorabilia.
