Modern Indian Paintings from the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi

Honoring the July 1982 visit to the US by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, this exhibition of 50 works by 47 Indian artists of the 20th century represented a cross-section of Indian art of the past 50 years and included the work of some of its most eminent artists, including Nobel Prize–winning poet and painter Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941).
