Every Thursday evening in August, the Hirshhorn transforms into the city’s most refreshing destination for dynamic art, after-work drinks, and thought-provoking conversation. Explore bold new exhibitions by renowned artists Ai Weiwei, Yoko Ono, and Markus Lüpertz, enjoy special tours of masterpieces of modern art, or just lounge by the fountain with friends.
AUG 3 – Cool off in August with the first Summer Evenings of the year.
AUG 10 – Don’t miss the last late night opportunity to experience the expansive 400-ft wall drawing by local artist Linn Meyers.
AUG 17 – Visit the monumental work of Ai Weiwei, which stretches 700-ft around the museum’s 2nd Level and enjoy a free screening of Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry.
AUG 24 – In anticipation of the final week of Masterworks from the Hirshhorn Collection, pop-up talks highlight visitor favorites.
AUG 31 – For the final Summer Evenings, there will be something for everyone with a special curator’s tour of Masterworks from the Hirshhorn Collection, closing September 4, and an evening STORYTIME+ for the museum’s youngest art enthusiasts.
