Storytime Studio: All in the Family
Creativity is vibrant on Wednesdays at Storytime Studio. Celebrate spring with your littlest artist. Every week offers a new adventure.
This week, we’ll explore artworks made by twin- artist duo OSGEMEOS in collaboration with their mother. Adult and child artists will explore textile materials and collaborate on their own mixed-media works with fabric, yarn, and cutout images.

Program Schedule
Storytime Studio is a one-hour experience, with entry times at 10 AM and 11 AM. No registration is required. Visitors receive their entry time upon arrival. Depending on availability, you may be asked to enjoy the galleries prior to your start time.
- 10 AM–noon: Open play (felt, blocks, sketching)
- 10:20 AM: Read-aloud #1 in Art School
- 10:30 AM: Art-making begins

Storytime Studio has limited capacity. Participation for each adult and child is limited to one hour. Depending on availability, you may be asked to enjoy the galleries prior to your start time. No reservations or tickets are required.
Nursing caregivers are welcome. Stroller parking is available in the Hirshhorn Lobby and on the Lower Level.
Storytime Studio: Mix it Up!
Creativity is in full bloom every Wednesday at Storytime Studio. Celebrate spring with your littlest artist. Every week offers a new adventure.
This week: Let’s mix it up! We will explore primary colors and mix colors to make new colors. Young artists will choose a favorite color to mix and then use to create a painting.

Storytime Studio: Move and Groove
Bring your littlest artists to the Hirshhorn for a March filled with joyful opportunities to express your best self! This week, we’ll explore marionettes by artist Aleksandra Aleksandrovna Exster. Adult and child artists will explore how the body moves and create their own puppets.

Art Cart: Light Up Your Life!
Celebrate the Summer Solstice inspired by artist Olafur Eliasson. Artists will look closely at his artwork Your Oceanic Feeling, play with reflective materials, and create their own works of art with light and color!
Find us on the Lower Level and pick up your reflective materials.
Do this at home! Have you ever seen a rainbow? Maybe you’ve noticed one refracted through a glass prism or while playing in a sprinkler on a sunny day. This project will give you the power to make your own rainbow! Create.

Art Cart: Construct with Kruger
Have you ever seen a work of art that covers an entire room (even the floors!)? Get inspired by artist Barbara Kruger and create your own mini-installation in a box. Artists will take a close look at Kruger’s work, Belief+Doubt, and then design their own work using paper, string, and more!
Find the Art Cart on the Lower Level and pick up your installation making materials.
