Coming Soon to the Hirshhorn, with Melissa Chiu
Melissa Chiu is the incoming director of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Previously she was the director of Asia Society New York and the organization’s senior vice president of global arts and cultural programs.
Hailed as “one of the museum world’s rising stars,” Chiu assumes her new position at the Hirshhorn on September 29th. After a difficult transition year for the museum, what kind of future can we anticipate for one of the country’s greatest repositories of modern and contemporary art? This event was moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post critic Philip Kennicott.
The Washington Ideas Roundtable Series is made possible with the generous support of Michelle Smith and the Robert H. Smith Foundation. Visit aspeninstitute.org to learn more about the Aspen Institute Arts Program.
