Art Cart: Paint the Plaza

Due to inclement weather, the Art Cart will be inside the Museum on the Third Level. Join us to explore and create inspired by Mark Bradford’s work. We will paint the plaza another day when the sun is shining!

Beat the heat with a water-inspired Art Cart! Young artists will explore the properties of water, explore how artists use water in their art, and use water to paint their own work of art on the Hirshhorn Plaza.

Art Cart: Shape Up!

Explore the possibilities of shapes and colors at this week’s Art Cart. Get inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama at this week’s Art Cart to explore color and shapes. Artists will look closely at her art and use polka-dots to create their own work of art.

Art Cart: Portrait Party

Join the party and make a portrait inspired by Aliza Nisenbaum! Artists will create collaborative works inspired by her painting Mis Cuatro Gracias (Brendan, Camilo, Carlos, Jorge) featured in Revolutions: Art from the Hirshhorn Collection, 1860–1960. Nisenbaum makes colorful portraits that celebrate people!

In celebration of cherry blossoms, join us for a spring-inspired Art Cart. We’ll take a close look at artist Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Two Circles, supply nature-inspired books and materials, and make our own blossom-inspired artworks.
